Organizational:

This position reports to the assigned supervisor.

Objective:

The experienced Engineer - Team Leader 4 develops and applies engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex and unique engineering problems. A person in this role is recognized as a key internal reference point for technical guidance through depth and breadth of knowledge and may be required to provide technical guidance over a group of colleagues, CAD, and administrative staff on projects of medium to high complexity. This role is also responsible for developing, validating, and presenting technical output and may provide leadership for development of deliverables to clients. People management responsibilities include supervising a group of engineers, CAD, or administrative staff working on medium-scope single or multi-discipline projects, or personnel of an operations department. Management responsibilities may extend to multiple locations and includes accountability for talent development, quality work production, and overall compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages engineering design-related aspects of a multi-discipline project or multiple small to medium projects, including engineering schedule and budget performance, quality of engineering solutions and deliverables, coordination or design, procurement, and construction.
  • Oversees and participates in the collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.
  • Coordinates all technical aspects of projects and makes project engineering execution decisions within the bounds set by applicable policies, standards, guides and contract commitments
  • Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis problems and methods.
  • Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications and studies with limited supervision for moderately complex or multiple projects.
  • Support Business Development by providing technical information for sales proposals, or by pursuing other related activates as assigned by department managers.
  • Attends and frequently leads internal and external client meetings, communications, conference calls and client site visits.
  • Identifies and communicates client interests and drivers to project team and develops approaches to meet these interests and drivers throughout the work on projects.
  • Provides clarity on or interprets standards based on experience and helps others understand the industry, client and company's standards. Assists with updating company standards.
  • Ensures compliance with company quality program through individual and team related tasks or deliverables.
  • Provides overall direction to Engineers, technical and administrative staff within a project or across multiple projects for quality and adherence to project standards including budget and schedule.
  • Manages resources for mid-size groups through staffing, recruiting, budget reviews, tools and/or processes review within a large office or for multiple offices.
  • Oversees and conducts activities related to performance management process, mentoring, recognition and corrective actions required for a small to medium size group of engineers.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program required. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. At least ten years of related experience demonstrating continuous growth and knowledge expansion, resource planning and management over multidiscipline and large, complex projects. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.
