Organizational:

Objective:

The experienced Engineer - Team Contributor 4 develops and applies engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex and unique engineering problems. A person in this role is recognized as a key internal reference point for technical guidance through depth and breadth of knowledge and may be required to provide technical guidance over a group of colleagues, CAD, and administrative staff on projects of medium to high complexity. This role is also responsible for developing, validating, and presenting technical output and may provide leadership for development of deliverables to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages engineering design-related aspects of a multi-discipline project or multiple small to medium projects, including engineering schedule and budget performance, quality of engineering solutions and deliverables, coordination or design, procurement, and construction.
  • Oversees and participates in the collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.
  • Coordinates all technical aspects of projects and makes project engineering execution decisions within the bounds set by applicable policies, standards, guides and contract commitments.

  • Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of backups and database archive operations.
  • Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
  • Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
  • Investigates and resolves problems involving complex systems and/or networks of systems.
  • Often will act as project leader for projects involving complex operating systems.
  • Keeps current on hardware and software developments and recommends changes to meet the needs of installations.
  • Administer user accounts, passwords, security policies, email, and shell scripting.
  • Implement and enforce security procedures.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required, working toward BA/BS in related field preferred. Two to five years' experience with VMWare, Linux, Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server 2012, Windows 10, Windows 7 on PCs, and MAC operating systems required. Network troubleshooting, Cisco ASA, switches, routers, SharePoint, UNIX, VOIP preferred. The successful candidate will be goal oriented, have excellent communication skills, be able to manage multiple priority tasks and have a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.
