Commonwealth, as Owner’s Engineer, assisted CMS Enterprises with development of a project that would add 230 MW of combustion turbine capacity at their existing facility. The facility in Dearborn, MI currently utilizes two combustion turbines in combined cycle mode and one unit in simple cycle mode. Commonwealth evaluated plant performance for numerous cycle configurations and combustion turbine technologies to determine the optimal design. Performance analysis and cycle design, electric interconnection application support, and air permitting support was provided for the facility. The Site layout and general arrangement of the facility was provided by Commonwealth. Preliminary electrical design and one-line diagram, and combustion turbine bid solicitation and evaluation Commonwealth provided.
