Commonwealth was involved with reinforcing and repairing existing concrete tunnel structure in the Ingalls Mall Area of the University of Michigan central campus for emergency vehicle and other loads, as well as adding tunnel ventilation, and upgrading various site utilities in this area of University of Michigan’s central campus. Among the utility upgrades are new water main, hydrants, storm and sanitary sewer upgrades, underground electrical improvements and an underground storm detention and infiltration basin. Commonwealth provided design options for various structure and utility upgrades, developed the contract documents and provided construction period services and cost estimating. The watermain and utility packages were approved by or coordinated with the City of Ann Arbor.
